JINGLE BRAWL ‘06
DECEMBER 21, 2006
The Lethal Lottery was picked in the locker room area prior to each match. Jerry Beasley was the MC of the drawings. Dragonfyre was the first name drawn and his partner was Overlord. There opponents were Dismemberment & DDP.
LETHAL LOTTERY MATCHES
Overlord & Dragonfyre vs DDP & Dismemberment
Dragonfyre pinned Dismemberment to advance to the second round.
Mohammad Hassan & Phillip Daniels vs Prometheus & Sylas Styles
Prometheus & Sylas were paired together out of either luck or some evil doing, but either way Sylas pinned Hassan for his team to move on.
Brock Lesnar & Taka Michinoku vs Steve Austin & Heidenreich
This was more like a 2-on-1 handicap match as Austin stood on the apron the entire time and refused to tag in. Heidenreich put up a good fight, even bloodying Lesnar, but in the end Heidenreich fell to an F5.
OJ & Chris Hero vs Death & Lance Storm
OJ & Hero just seemed to click as a team and made rather short work of Death & Storm.
Tajiri & Bludmoone vs Larry Vessey & Bruce the Giant
Probably the best match of the night as both battled hard. When the bell rang neither team advanced as time had run out on the match and it was declared a draw.
Great Muta & Bryan Vessey vs Vampiro & Geoffrey
A lack of communication kept Muta & Vessey from being able to function as a team, and as a result fell to Geoffrey’s powerslam.
Spyke & D-Kill vs King Jacob & Peter Willoughby
Ring rust was evident on the King of Halifar as he made his return to XCW along side one of his Royal Guardsmen. D-Kill nailed Jacob Von Tratten with a superkick to pick up the victory.
Tyler Pritts & Mark Jindrak vs S.P.S.F.
Buchanan & Reigns were on their way to the ring when they were jumped by 3 men. Just then Prometheus & Sylas showed up with some papers and Prometheus said that it was signed. Sylas then told 2 of the men to get to the ring. Mike Kidd & Kahn replaced the SPSF in the match. Pritts & Jindrak worked well as a team, but interference from Dutchface allowed Kidd to hit the Brain Buster on Tyler for the win.
ROUND 2 – HARDCORE
Overlord & Dragonfyre vs Sylas Styles & Prometheus
Once again the continuity of Sylas & Prometheus prevailed as Prometheus hit the Fire from Heaven on Overlord to move on to the semi-finals.
Taka Michinoku & Brock Lesnar vs OJ & Chris Hero
The team work between Lesnar and Taka broke down as Hero hit his finisher on Taka and then took out Lesnar as OJ covered him for the pin. Afterwards an angry Lesnar attacked the much smaller Taka.
Spyke & D-Kill vs Mike Kidd & Kahn
The team of Kidd & Kahn continued to impress as Spyke was forced to tap out to the Wrath of Kahn. Kidd & Kahn moved on to face Geoffrey & Vampiro in the next round.
SEMI-FINALS : STEEL CAGE
Prometheus & Sylas Styles vs OJ & Chris Hero
Sylas and Chris Hero escaped the old Iron Bar type cage first making it into OJ vs Prometheus. Prometheus hit the Fire from Heaven and began to climb the cage but was knocked down by Chris Hero from the outside. As Hero & Sylas fought outside the cage, inside OJ was taking control and eventually hit the Juicer on Prometheus and crawled out the door to advance his team to the finals.
Geoffrey & Vampiro vs Kahn & Mike Kidd
The last minute replacements for the SPSF dominated the tournament to this point and this round was no different as the team of Kahn and Kidd pummeled and bloodied Vampiro until he could not continue. That left Geoffrey to take on both men. The head of security of the Royal Halifarian Family held his own, but soon was overtaken by the teamwork of Kidd & Kahn. The duo handcuffed Geoffrey to the cage and they walked out the door to advance to the FINAL FOUR.
FINAL FOUR ELIMINATION FINAL
OJ vs Chris Hero vs Kahn vs Mike Kidd
All alliances were gone, or so it is billed, but Kidd & Kahn had another idea. The two teamed up and took out OJ & Hero and then Mike Kidd eliminated himself to allow his partner and former XCW TV Champion, Victor Kahn to advance to take on Goldberg for the XCW Title.
XCW TITLE
Goldberg [c] vs Kahn
Goldberg wasted no time in coming to the ring to defend his title. As he slid into the ring Kahn and Kidd put the boots to him. They whipped the champ into the ropes, but he took them both out with a diving shoulder tackle. Kidd & Kahn rolled to the floor to collect themselves. Goldberg pulled Kahn back into the ring by his hair. The bell rang and the match was on. Goldberg was in control early, but could not gain total control as Mike Kidd continued to interfere. Eventually the ref sent Kidd away from ringside. Minutes later thou Mike returned, this time with 3 other men at his side. Prometheus, Sylas Styles, & a third man we have not seen before (Dutchface) came out just as Goldberg hit the spear. The 4 men jumped in the ring and tossed the referee out. Now all 5 men in the ring were pounding on the champ, and everytime Goldberg tried to comeback one of the men would nail him from behind. Kidd tossed a barbwire covered steel chair into Kahn while the others held the champ. Kahn wound up and hit him like Albert Pujlos nailing a homerun. Goldberg was bloody and beaten. Several other XCW Stars tried to help the champ, but they too were taken out. XCW officials finally came to the ring followed by EMTs and the 5 men headed up the ramp to a chorus of boos and trash being thrown at them, but the seemed to revel in it. Goldberg was loaded up on a stretcher and taken from the arena in an ambulance.
